I have been resizing the hard drive on virtual box for a number of years and it's pretty straight forward. Use VBoxManage in terminal on the mac, then go into windows and allocate the space.

It happens if you don't pay attention to the primary boot disk. When you choose ISO image, also expose the cd as primary. Also, there is the priority for boot in 'System option'. You can manage them by clicking a small arrow next to Boot order checkboxes.

Today I went in and executed the standard command to increase the size from 55Gb to 65Gb.

VBoxManage modifyhd '/Users/...../bk.vdi' --resize 65000
Oracle vm virtualbox no bootable medium found
When I go into the Virtual Box Manager I see the .vdi under storage and it's (Normal, 63.48Gb) but get the FATAL: error when trying to start the machine.
The log file looks pretty standard like it cannot see the file, but the fact that it knows it's 63.48Gb would indicate it is seeing it.

Mac OS - Mac OS Sierra 10.12I just downloaded VirtualBox 5.0.4 for OS X hosts and the VirtualBox 5.0.4 Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack. My Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager opens with no problem, so I can view the settings, etc. When I click Start, I get the 'Fatal: No bootable medium found! System halted.' error and don't know where to go from here. I downloaded Windows 10 (64-bit) as my VM onto Mac OS X 10.10.5 (Yosemite). I also reviewed the user's manual but couldn't find the error or associated troubleshooting recommendations.
